JUMBO GOLF Amsterdam

In 2004, the first Jumbo Golf World opened its doors. The store’s motto was that excellent customer service combined with a wide assortment of golf brands and material must be availabe for everyone’s budget. Six stores later and nearly 12 years later, it was again time to review the retail golf landscape.

It is at this point in time that Bart van Pelt, CEO Jumbo Golf World, visited retailLAB for a strategic meeting with Hans van den Hout about the future of golf retail in the Benelux countries. An analysis of the market showed a demand for a golf experience store that would still respect Jumbo’s core values: service and assortment at the best price. Bart and Hans’ shared passion for golf became the foundation for the new Jumbo Golf Concept, which was implemented in the Experience Store in Amsterdam Westpoort. The end result is a store where both the golf fashion, equipment and accessories are lifted to new heights.

1600m² true golf experience: starting with the eyecatcher in the lobby, to the driving range with three practice cages. Golf fashion gets central stage next to the Nike shop and gulf enthusiasts meet at the regulars’ table before the big screen or on the putting green. This one-stop-shopping location caters to every and all golfers’ needs and may already be seen as a benchmark for golf retail.
