RetailLAB - Making successful stores since 1973

RetailLAB is recognized internationally as a leading player in the retail design and consulting business. Our company was founded in the Netherlands in 1973 by Hans van den Hout, an expert on the ever-changing global retail landscape. Over the decades, retailLAB has built up a strong reputation with retailers and brands all over the world, and a unique database of innovative, up-to-the-minute retail solutions.

Hans made a hobby out of his profession. In the last 40 years he has been involved in many interesting retail projects and laid the foundation for a very diverse range of store concepts all over America and Europe. In Japan he took part in the development of the biggest retail project of the eighties: a 40.000 m2 mega store right in the Tokyo city center.

Among the great successes of retailLAB are the first Jeans Centre in The Netherlands; the concept of the Blokker stores in the eighties; Xenos; and a longstanding collaboration (35 years) with Piet Zoomers.
