Jumbo Golf World
With over 400 stores JUMBO is well known as one of the industry leaders in food inspired supermarkets
in the Benelux.
In 2004, the first Jumbo Golf World opened its doors. The store’s motto was that excellent customer
service combined with a wide assortment of golf brands and material must be availabe for everyone’s
budget. Six stores and nearly 12 years later, it was again time to review the retail golf landscape.
In 2016 Bart van Pelt, CEO Jumbo Golf World, visited retailLAB for a strategic meeting with Hans van den Hout about the future of golf retail in the Benelux countries. An analysis of the market showed a demand for a golf experience store that would still respect Jumbo’s core values: service and assortment at the best price.
Bart and Hans’ shared passion for golf became the foundation for the new Jumbo Golf EXPERIENCE Concept, which was implemented in the first store in Amsterdam Westpoort, and one Year later in Arnhem. The end result is a store where both golf fashion, golf equipment and accessories are lifted to new heights.
